Fort MP Overview
Irrespective of the industry you are from, FortMP Solver can help you significantly reduce inefficiencies in operations and dramatically improve profitability. FortMP comes in handy for managers at every level to make better decisions for effective resource utilization. The advanced algorithms in FortMP help you find the right solutions faster.
Key Features
Some salient features of FortMP are:
- Robustness: Find the optimal solutions with FortMP, where other solvers absolutely fail to deliver. As per one study published in the Mathematical Programming Journal, all other well-known MILP solvers failed to find a solution for a 20 variable integer linear problem except FortMP.
- Supports large set of Optimization Problems: FortMP solves wide range of mathematical formulations, including:
- Large-scale Linear Programming (LP) problems.
- Quadratic Programming (QP) problems.
- Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) problems.
- Variable Separable Programming (VSP) problems.
- Quadratic Mixed Integer Programming (QMIP) problems.
- Wider Acceptance: More than 30 companies, many of which are in the Fortune 500 list, are currently using FortMP. In addition, it has been used by various Government agencies and numerous academic institutions all over the world.
- Advanced Algorithms: FortMP uses primal and dual simplex algorithms with sparse matrices to solve large scale Linear Programming (LP) problems. Interior point algorithms (barrier, affine and predictor-corrector) based on the primal-dual logarithmic barrier method is used to solve Quadratic Programming (QP) problems and also large LP problems. Branch and bound tree search algorithms are used to solve Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) problems even including special ordered sets of type 1 and 2.
- Flexibility and wider platform / language support: FortMP is available either as a stand-alone program or as a static library. In addition, it comes in both static library for supported platforms and DLL for the Windows environment. The DLL supports many programming languages including C, C++, and .Net based languages. There is an implementation of COIN-OR Open Solver Interface too for the FortMP solver. FortMP is supported in the AMPL modelling system through the FortMP driver. It can be easily embedded within other software environments as well.
- Seamless Working with Various Modelling Systems: FortMP can be called from any modelling system that supports the OSI interface. It works seamlessly with AMPL, AMPL Studio, AMPL COM etc.
- Easy integration with Decision Support Applications: FortMP can be easily embedded in your in-house or third-party decision support applications.
- Professional Support: Armed with cutting edge knowledge and extensive experience, our professionals most willingly remain with you to best exploit the solver to derive the maximum advantage for your organisation.
